My Story

Hi, I’m Holly Rigos, a former sports marketing assistant and globe-trotting philanthropist, currently living my greatest life as an online content creator and mom of four. I love studying God’s word, photography, and making films. Knitting Our Story is a JOURNEY JOURNAL documenting how we are building an online ministry through knitting the subtle pages of our story together for HIS glory.

Career Girl to SAHM

Earned a degree in Sports Management with an emphasis in Marketing and Business then joined the Peace Corps as a Small Enterprise Development volunteer and served two years in Mali, Africa then joined Teach For America (TFA) based in Selma, Alabama.

During my TFA days, I met and quickly married my husband at 25 – (read about Christian dating here). Within two years, I sacrificed all the globe-trotting and resume building to stay at home (read about my SAHM journey here) to grow our family and establish a home. Over ten years, four kids, and several moves later we’ve settled in Upstate NY.

Digital Missionary

In 2018, I launched this blog out of a place of struggle when my family experienced the loss of multiple loved ones then in 2019 we experienced the biggest fear in our lives thus far.

It opened my eyes and heart to the idea that this little place online can become a place of hope and joy for others who may be experiencing the same pain and suffering as they face uncertainties in life.

I began knitting the best of our moments together utilizing free video editing software and incorporating new elements such as music, text overlays, and so on. Eventually using these skills to become a local photographer, videographer, and virtual assistant!

I started this blog hoping to bridge the same gap for YOUR physical, emotional, and spiritual desires by teaching YOU everything I have learned to craft your legacy for God’s Glory.

What started as a way to share my passions and faith has evolved into, what I hope, will be a flourishing online ministry for many other women who feel, think, and grow as we do. Join the journey newsletter as I share updates and new inspirations as this ministry grows to glorify Him.

The name “Knitting Our Story” is inspired and takes direction from Psalm 139: 13-16.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Our inmost being was carefully, skillfully, and lovingly knitted together in the secret place of our mother’s womb.

We are significant. We are worthy of love. We are HIS most prized possessions.

My blog is meant to be a creative outlet and resource for others. It will hopefully teach YOU how to create cohesive visual storytelling through films, dynamic photographs, scrapbooks, photo books, blogging, and multiple other ways to keep YOUR legacy alive for future generations through the use of digital media.

We believe the Bible to be the verbally inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God. All Scripture is given by the inspiration of God.

We believe that the Godhead exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and that those three are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections, and worthy of precisely the same homage, confidence, and obedience.

We believe in the unique deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection and ascension to the right hand of the Father. We believe Christ is the only Mediator between God and man and the only Advocate and Intercessor before God on behalf of man. 

We believe in the personality and Deity of the Holy Spirit, that He descended to earth at Pentecost to regenerate, to indwell, and to set apart believers to a holy life, and to be the administrator of the church, and Who is here also to convict of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.

We believe in the personality of Satan, that he is the unholy god of this age, the author of all powers of darkness, and is destined to the judgment of an eternal justice in the lake of fire.

I have always had a passion to share what is on my heart and mind. As a stay-at-home mother, it became clear that I needed an outlet outside of washing dishes to share what God was doing in my heart and family.

During the first year of creating this website and blog, I befriended a lovely lady in a Facebook group who needed help with organizing folders and files on her computer as well as assistance with her Canva templates. The relationship grew and eventually, she encouraged me to step into this new role.
